The Monjardim manor, in Jucutuquara, is the headquarters of the Museum of the same name, the most important in the State, belonging to the Federal University of Espírito Santo. It is, probably, the oldest private rural construction of the Capixaba colonial period. It was built as the headquarters of the Jucutuquara farm and was initially owned by the priests of the Society of Jesus. With the expulsion of these, it was acquired by the trader Gonçalo Pereira Pinto. The farm ran from the hill of Capixaba to Ponta de Tubarão, and produced manioc flour and, later, coffee.

it then roasted at the hands of Captain-Major Francisco Pinto Homem de Azevedo, who probably rebuilt the house in 1805. His daughter and heiress, Ana da Penha, born in 1797, married Colonel Monjardim, whose family kept the property for 150 years until its acquisition to host the Museum. It is typical colonial rural construction, today in the urban environment. It has eleven rooms, three lounges, a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora do Carmo, a stone kitchen and a balcony with thirteen windows, which goes from the entrance bell to the chapel.

The manor is entered by a stone masonry staircase, in front of which there was a sundial.

Another internal solar clock, in the central hall, projected, exactly at noon, a disk of sunlight through a circular hole, made in roof tile. There were two large side buildings for home industries and housing for domestic slaves. The slave quarters and the sugar mill were in the valley next to the Fradinhos stream.
